STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH) SCHOLARS PROGRAM
We partner with iDTech via scholarships to support under privileged kids ages 4 to 14 to participate in summer STEM education program that offers hands-on-learning for children through fun robotic activities to develop critical thinking. Kids will have an opportunity to code a game from scratch, build their own take-home laptop, produce a viral video or engineer a robot.
READING CHALLENGE INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Through our adopt-a-school program at Oliver Wendell Holmes Humanities Middle School we challenge students to get excited about reading. Books are selected by the teacher with a reading comprehension assessment of the content. Research shows that reading is fundamental to developing stronger social skills, vocabulary and writing skills, and helps them to better understand and process more complex ideas.
To support our mission to reduce childhood obesity and to encourage at-risk kids to exercise and eat healthy, we’ve partnered with the Oncor Mayor’s 5K race to offer a unique youth training program called 3 Months to 3 miles. Research shows a direct link between physical fitness and educational success.
